This was based on another article I read in my Realtor Magazine published by the National Realtors Association. Helpful information to know when you are home shopping or living in your home for an extended period of time.

To Last 100 Years or more

  • Brick siding
  • Real wood floors
  • Cellulose insulation material

To Last 50-100 Years

  • Roofs made of slate, copper, clay and concrete
  • Copper gutters
  • Kitchen cabinets
  • Kitchen sinks made of modified acrylic
  • Vinyl Flooring

To Last 30-50 Years

  • Thermostats
  • Wooden windows
  • Roofs made of wooden shakes
  • Interior french doors

To Last 10-20 Years

  • Built-in audio systems
  • Aluminum windows
  • Roofs made of asphalt shingles
  • Kitchen faucets
  • Gas ranges
  • Cultured marble countertops
  • Dryers and refrigerators
  • Air conditioning units
  • Lighting controls
  • Interior & exterior paint
  • Electric or gas water heaters
  • Central air conditioners
  • Furnaces

To Last 5-10 Years

  • Security systems
  • Heat & smoke detectors
  • Dishwashers
  • Microwaves
